Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Psychedelic Fever is a serviceable thumbnail sketch of the 1960s drug culture. Director William Rotsler has assembled an entertaining kaleidescope of those mind-expanding years, utilizing newsreel footage, clips from dramatic films, and interviews. Naturally, the music of the era blares from the soundtrack, which is either wonderful or appalling depending upon your mindset. Some of the images are rather frank, which explains the film's R rating. For the viewer who wasn't around at the time, Psychedelic Fever is a good trip-not a bummer.
