Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
The exploits of a young man who dreams of marrying a princess are the basis of this family-oriented Czech fairy tale. Jindrich is the young hero who leaves his home in search of his dream girl. He is zapped to a mill pond by a witch. There a father and his daughter Eliska dwell with only a green water sprite and an imp for their neighbors. They adore Eliska and when Jindrich arrives they are not happy. To keep him away, the two become a frog and a cat and ask him for kisses. They then become hideous sisters. A rich, elderly nobleman also comes for Eliska's hand. He offers her many expensive gifts. It is then that the maiden gives them all three special tasks. The one to complete them first will win her hand. Jindrich naturally wins, but when he discovers that Eliska isn't a princess, spurns her. The resourceful maiden then uses the gifts of her would be husbands to make herself appear royal. Jindrich finally realizes that she is indeed his dream girl and they live happily ever after.
