Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Famed Viennese musical-comedy doyenne Fritzi Scheff played the title role in Hobart Bosworth's production of Pretty Mrs. Smith. Based on the play by Oliver Morosco and Elmer Harris, the story centers around Drucilla (Scheff), a much-married international society belle. By a bizarre coincidence, all three of Drucilla's husband (played by Louis Bennison, Forrest Stanley and Owen Moore, in order of seniority) are named Smith. Things come to a hilarious head when the three Mr. Smiths converge upon our heroine's home all at once. Though Fritzi Scheff was not able to convey the first bloom of youth as she did on stage, Pretty Mrs. Smith proves eminently satisfactory for her thousands of fans.
