Directed by Sanjay Jha, Praan Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye follows several middle class Indians engaged in a fight with their new landlord, Praveen Seth (Sachin Khedekar), who is intent on evicting them from the premises in order to construct a much larger, more expensive apartment building. Arguing that the landlord's grandfather and predecessor, Popatlal, would not have wanted the building to meet that fate, the residents rally together in an effort to stop their home from being vacated. Though it initially seems as if Praveen Seth will have his way, Laxmi Rathod (aveena Tandon), one of the residents, plays a trick that leaves the questionable landlord too afraid to even come near the complex.
