Former Follies girl Justine Johnston is well cast as the star of this drama, which contrasts the bright lights of Broadway with the poverty of New York's Lower East Side. Lola (Johnston) is a dancer who performs at a wealthy pleasure club. Some of the men have made a bet whether Lola can win a certain Dr. Jennings (Crauford Kent). When vamping him does not work, Lola goes to the Lower East Side, where he works with the ill and impoverished. She offers to help out at the day nursery and gets so wrapped up in working with the children that Jennings falls in love with her. The doctor wants to build an emergency hospital, and Lola offers to perform at the club once again if they donate 25 thousand dollars to the charity. As a result of her performance, Jennings discovers her former profession. Lola becomes concerned that Jennings' association with her will hurt his cause, so she chases him away by behaving outrageously. When she visits the Lower East Side, an angry mob attacks her, and Jennings comes to her rescue. They are united. Incidentally, after Johnston left motion pictures, she went to medical school, and her work led to the invention of the intravenous drip.
