Kingsley (Rod LaRocque) is an attorney who is able to represent just about any criminal and get him off. One day he goes to the dentist to have his tooth extracted and a gangster dashes into the office. He insists on taking the wary lawyer to an underworld haunt where Goldie Harper (a miscast Estelle Taylor) has just killed a man. Kingsley agrees to take on the case and has the culprits hide the body. He is able to clear Goldie because without a body, there is no proof of the murder. The crooks double cross him when they take the body and bury it in his own backyard. Just when it looks like Kingsley himself will be accused of the crime, he wakes up in the dentist's chair -- it was all just a nightmare he had while under the effects of the gas. After this harrowing dream, he promises to be more careful about who he represents.
