French filmmaker Michel Ferry directs the digital video feature Aller-Simple Pour Manhattan (Petty Crimes). Mike (Jérémie Covillault) is a reformed criminal from France making a new life for himself as an illegal alien in New York City. When the U.S. immigration office finds out about him, he is left with a short time to gather enough money to avoid deportation. Meanwhile, he finds romance with law student Zoe (co-screenwriter Sarah Zoe Canner), who doesn't know about his criminal history. Eventually he is framed for murder and faced with a choice to stay with her or skip out of town and avoid capture. Ann Hu stars as his ex-girlfriend Fran.
