A minor silent Mary Miles Minter melodrama, Periwinkle featured the teenaged Minter in the title role, a waif rescued from drowning by rich wastrel (George Fisher), whom she reforms and marries. A rather bland leading man who would do yeoman duty in four Minter films, George Fisher's screen career lasted until the changeover to sound. He should not be confused with (but often is) rustic comedian George "Shug" Fisher.
