Margarita Fischer's career was just beginning to decline when she starred in this routine programmer. Broker Harry Fenton (Haryward Mack) is on the verge of financial ruin and needs 10,000 dollars to bail himself out. He talks his fiancée Emily Heath (Fischer) into getting it from his wealthy friend Stephen Strange (Cecil Van Auker) by being nice to him. After reluctantly agreeing, Emily allows a relationship to develop between her and Strange, but when he offers her 10,000 dollars to break her engagement, she refuses. She still manages to get the check, however, when he misplaces it. Emily and Strange are returning from a roadhouse when his car overturns. She leaves him lying in the road, unconscious, and goes to Fenton with the check. Strange comes to and believes the check has been stolen by crooks, so he contacts the bank and orders them to arrest whomever shows up with it. Fenton, of course, winds up being detained, and he and Emily split up because of the incident. Emily turns her attention to Strange, whom she has come to honestly love.
