Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This English-made comedy was based on the novel by Austin Fryers. Its biggest flaw is that C.M. Hallard seems awfully British to portray American millionaire John Pye Smith. Smith believes that his son Harry (J.P. Roberts) has fallen in love with a fortune hunter and he travels to London to put a stop to the romance. But he suffers a string of misfortunes that begin when his valet, Jenks (Jeff Barlow), gets left behind. Smith, who is utterly helpless without Jenks, has no money on him and no identification. He wanders endlessly around the streets of London and is forced into hard labor. When he falls off a ladder, he winds up in a hospital. The nurse who takes care of him, Hilda Martin (Katherine Blair), turns out to be the English girl who Harry loves. Smith realizes that his son has made a good match, and blesses their union.
