Synopsis
The possible health hazards of low-level radiation are explored in this report based on an investigation by journalist Paul Jacobs. Filmed shortly before he died of cancer in 1978, Jacobs interviewed cancer victims in Nevada who felt their disease resulted from exposure to fallout from above-ground nuclear tests between 1946 and 1962. The program looks into the Government's position on radiation danger, allegations of unsafe conditions at a plutonium-processing plant, and at a U.S. Naval Shipyard where nuclear subs are built.
