Synopsis by Janiss Garza
This drama was adapted from a popular novel by Samuel Merwin. Matt Moore stars as Henry Calverly, an ex-convict who went to prison, even though he was innocent, to protect someone else. On his release, he takes on an assumed name and becomes a newspaper reporter. But when he writes a story exposing the wrongdoings of the trustees to the Cantley estate, he is fired. Heiress Miriam Cantley (Rubye DeRemer), however, helps him out by urging him to write a biography of her dead father. A romance develops between them, even though Miriam is an invalid who must use a wheelchair to get around. Her love for Calverly inspires her to recover. Through Miriam, Calverly discovers even more evildoings by the trustees, who are now out to get him. They reveal his past as a convict, but in spite of it all, Miriam chooses to remain true. Finally, the trustees are forced to give up their positions and Calverly, who has become engaged to Miriam, takes over the management of the estate.
