Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Peter Waverton (Charles Cherry) is having an affair with Margaret Summers (Mary Charleson), the maid of his half-sister. The half-sister breaks up the romance by shipping Peter off to America and firing Margaret. When Peter returns to London, he becomes engaged to Beatrice Dainton (Marguerite Skirvin), the orphan niece of Lady Hurley's husband. But he hasn't forgotten Margaret and searches the city for her. He has gotten into the habit of helping out unfortunates who pass by his home, and one night, he sees a woman wandering through the fog and collapsing on the street. He rushes out to pick her up and discovers that it is Margaret. She reveals that she has had a child (Donald Kite), who is his. She brings the child to Peter the next day, and eventually his engagement to Beatrice is broken up, and he and Margaret are reunited. This picture was based on a novel and play by C. Haddon Chambers.
