Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This American documentary sensitively studies the families of three people killed at Kent State, Vietnam, and Jackson State. It carefully skirts the bounds of voyeurism while truthfully probing the pain and suffering these families experienced in losing their children. Students at Kent State died protesting the Vietnam War, and at Jackson State they died for civil rights. Soldiers in Vietnam hoped they were dying for their country. Whatever the cause the children died for, their families were united by their grief.
