Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
An Austrian dentist has decided to see his patients privately rather than submit to the institutionalized state rules on the practice of dentistry in this parody of Apocalypse Now. Scenes from Parodontose Now allude to scenes from Francis Ford Coppola's epic on the Vietnam war, and therein lies the humor, along with the deadpan Austrian narrative. Due to the restricted subject matter and cinematic allusions, the most appreciative audiences will probably be dentists and film buffs.
