Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Danny Rowland, a forger (Harold Lockwood) is on the lam with fellow crook Dominie (James Lackaye). They happen upon a large mansion, and the estate's retainer, Uncle Alex (Anthony Byrd), recognizes Danny as his missing master, Richard Castleman. Amused by this turn of events, Danny and Dominie move right in. Castleman, they find out the next day, was engaged to the lovely Jean Logan (Rubye DeRemer), and Jean is thrilled at her sweetheart's return. Dr. Harry Chilton (Richard R. Neill), however, insists that Danny is an impostor, and that the real Castleton was lost at sea. No one believes him, until Dominie, upset that Danny really intends to marry Jean, explains that they are just two crooks. Jean is heart-broken and Chilton goes for a sheriff. But then the truth is revealed -- Danny really is Richard Castleman. Castleman was held up by Danny Rowland and the crook stole his steamship ticket to Australia. Rowland, not Richard, perished on the boat, while Richard had taken over the robber's identity.
