In this murder mystery, Pauline Frederick plays Cassy Cara, a young Portuguese woman who has been tricked into a mock marriage by an old roue, Monty Paliser (Warburton Gamble). When he refuses to "make an honest woman of her," she plots to kill him, as does her father (James Neil) and a friend, Lennox (Albert Roscoe). With all of these people out to get him, it is no surprise that Paliser is stabbed while at the Met. Lennox is arrested, and Cassy comes under suspicion. Cassy's father admits that he is the one who killed Paliser, and his confession exonerates the other two. This film was based on a novel by Edgar Saltus.
