Synopsis by Josh Ralske
Weatherman Jin-soo (Korean heartthrob Lee Jung-jae) sits in his car on a busy Seoul street during a downpour, waiting for something. A woman walks by the car and waits for a bus, and Jin-soo looks forlornly at the flowers lying beside him as the woman gets on the bus and departs. He starts his car and drives off, only to have his car smashed by an oncoming truck. Thus begins Ahn Jin-wu's romantic comedy, Over the Rainbow. Jin-soo wakes up in the hospital with an odd case of selective amnesia. There are a few details about his life he just can't seem to recall. Then he has a powerful dream about a mysterious young woman whose face he cannot see. He eventually realizes that this woman is a past love whom he cannot remember. He enlists the aid of his old college friend, Yeun-hee (Jang Jin-young), who works in the subway lost and found, in a complex investigation into the young woman's identity. Yeun-hee is getting over a failed romance of her own. As clues and red herrings accumulate, and Jin-soo grows closer to identifying his past great love, he unexpectedly finds himself falling in love with Yeun-hee. Over the Rainbow had its North American premiere at Subway Cinema's 2003 New York Asian Film Festival.
