Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Debuting February 10, 2003, on Australia's ABC network, the 13-episode series Out There brought four misfit teenagers from various backgrounds together at Wild Spring Veterinary Clinic in the Australian outback. The foursome included local kids Miller (Richard Wilson), a dreamer and a longer, and Fiona (Molly McCaffrey), who communicated better with animals than with people; Aggie (Jade Ewen), an insufferably overconfident girl from England; and Reilly (Douglas Smith), a Connecticut lad whose wealthy family had recently lost every penny they had. The two Aussie teens found that their view of the world was profoundly changed by their new "foreign" cohorts, and vice versa, while all four protagonists developed a maturity beyond their years as they learned to care for the wildlife all around them. Created by Willie Reale, Out There was co-produced by the American Noggin cable channel, where the series made its U.S. bow on May 23, 2003.
