synopsis
In this Japanese WWII drama, set in northern China, a youthful officer disregards advice and launches an attack against the Chinese. However, his unit is slaughtered and he is taken captive. When a reward is posted for his return, a band of Chinese guerrillas attempts to free the Japanese hostage.
