Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Timed for release just when America was poised for another assault on the Iraqi stronghold of Saddam Hussein, the three-part, three-hour Operation Desert Storm is an in-depth history of the 1991 Persian Gulf War. Combining archival footage and interviews with key participants, the series is doled out in episodes bearing such self-explanatory titles as "The Air Campaign," "The Ground War," and "The Final Showdown." Debuting January 14, 2003, on American cable TV, Operation Desert Storm was simultaneously made available in a 150-minute "home" version on VHS and DVD.
