Synopsis by Dan Pavlides

Sylvia Lacey (Edith Roberts) is sent to relatives in New England when her irresponsible artist father dies penniless. She is sent to a farm in a small mill-town when she can't get along with the family. There she meets the overseer of the farm who looks at life in a quasi-religious and philosophical manner. A young neighbor girl and an English gentleman become frequent visitors during the summer, which gives Sylvia the company of friends. The title of the film symbolizes the ability of the town and people to be open and receptive to new ideas and situations.
