Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This three-part British miniseries stars Stephen Tompkinson as Jim Harper, an English schoolteacher living and working in Switzerland. In need of extra money, Jim volunteers to be a guinea pig for a secret drug experiment conducted by a high-profile pharamaceutical firm. Upon realizing that his subconscious is now linked to hundreds of zombified Russian soldiers, Jim also figures out that he's been a dupe in a master scheme to take over the world via mass hypnosis. As a result, he is forced to go on the run, unable to determine who his friends and enemies truly are. Combining a standard apocalyptic yarn with a bizarre romantic subplot, Oktober is adapted by Stephen Gallagher from his own novel, and first aired on April 2, 1998.
