Synopsis
Chronicling the rise---and abrupt disappearance---of the Chaco civilization, which flourished in the American Southwest some 800 years ago. The program explores how the Chacoans' discovery of an irrigation system led to the development of large towns. Included is a visit to Pueblo Bonita, an 800-room settlement that contained housing for families and circular rooms where the Chacoans worshipped. Stacy Keach narrates.
