Yet another little Western produced by Lester F. Scott, Jr.'s Action Pictures, The Obligin' Buckaroo starred Buffalo Bill, Jr. (aka Jay Wilsey) in the title role, a young cowboy inheriting a rundown hotel. Buffalo rescues a group of stranded vaudevillians, Muldoon's Merry Maids, from a local bully, Blackie (Charles "Slim" Whitaker), and in return, the thespians help clean up the hotel. Along the way, Buffalo discovers that he is part owner of a mining claim. The other half belongs to Tess and Steve Cole (Olive Hasbrouck and Sherry Tansey), who are being forced to sell out to Blackie. Blackie frames Buffalo for murder, but the young man is able to clear himself. The addition of a theatrical troupe added a bit of zest to this otherwise typical B-Western released mainly in the hinterlands. Tansey was also known under the name James Sheridan.
