Synopsis by Robert Firsching
This implausible but rather effective Greek film from director Vassilis Georgiadis takes place in the days following the Second World War. A cunning young bachelor (Lambros Konstandaras) comes to Greece with the identification of an officer in the Air Force who had gone missing in action, assuming his identity and slipping into his life. Things get complicated when he meets a beautiful woman (Maro Kondou) who had been involved in a wartime romance with him when they lived in Cairo. That's when the real Air Force officer turns up, but he suffers from amnesia. Now, although the story has been unfolding as somewhat of a precursor to The Talented Mr. Ripley, the dashing imposter actually shows some moral responsibility, helping the Air Force officer regain his memory despite his desire to continue living out his romance. Yiannis Voglis co-stars with Katy Papanika and Xenia Kaloyeropoulou.
