Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Unlike many currently available wartime documentaries, the Russian Nuremberg has the advantage of topicality. The film was assembled in 1946, the same year that the Nuremberg War Crimes trials began. Thus, many of the issues raised, as well as the fates of the various defendants, were still unresolved at the time of the film's production. This of course, does not prevent filmmaker C. Svilov from dispensing propaganda on behalf of the victorious Soviet forces. The on-the-spot film coverage provided in Nuremberg has since been excerpted in countless theatrical and TV retrospectives.
