Synopsis by Mark Deming

A handful of friends spend a weekend sharing secrets, while one has a bombshell she isn't ready to drop, in this independent comedy drama, the debut feature from writer/director Michelle-Ann M. Small. Nicole (Abbey Lessanu) is a twentysomething woman recently graduated from college who joins four of her friends for a weekend get-together in their old hometown. As they settle in at the home of a friend, the gals spend the next two days hanging out, catching up on one another's lives, and swapping opinions on any number of subjects. When the subject of men comes up, though, Nicole becomes skittish, and not without reason -- while she's the only one of the five without a boyfriend, she's just found out that she's pregnant, thanks to a one-night stand with the beau of one of her fellow houseguests. Not Just Yet was screened at the 2004 San Francisco Black Film Festival.
