Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A wealthy construction magnate feigns bankruptcy so that his deadbeat adult children will finally go to work, but finds his plan backfiring due to an unforeseen blackmail attempt in this domestic comedy from Mexico. Herman Noble (Gonzalo Vega) is a self-made man with a strong work ethic, so when he catches a glimpse of his three kids' outrageous credit-card statements, he decides it's high time to teach them all an important lesson in personal finances. The next thing irresponsible Javier (Luis Gerardo Méndez), spiteful Barbara (Karla Souza), and horny Charlie (Juan Pablo Gil) know, their father's house is being foreclosed on, and they're all being relocated to a working-class neighborhood. All three are contending with the hardships of having real jobs, and Herman is feeling particularly proud of his ruse until he discovers that Barbara has been battling bulimia for nearly a decade, and Javier suffers from severe dyslexia. Devastated at the thought that his failure as a father may have contributed to their disorders, Herman vows to become a more loving father just as Barbara's gigolo boyfriend Peter (Carlos Gascón) finds proof that the bankruptcy was staged. Now, unless Herman pays up, Peter will expose the deception, destroying any chance of trust between the repentant father and his newly motivated offspring in the process. Realizing that he may risk everything by maintaining his silence, Herman prepares to make the best decision for his children, despite potentially devastating personal consequences.
