Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Motion Picture News reflects the prejudices of the day when its review of this drama notes "The theme -- that love is stronger than racial barriers -- is somewhat daring." The story begins with the romance between Jewish Rachel Abrams (Zena Keefe) and Gentile society man, Russell Mortimer (Maurice Costello). The couple marry, but the groom's father splits them up. Rachel's father, Aaron Abrams (Dore Davidson), takes the ten thousand dollars that Mortimer Sr. has given him and uses it to start a business with which he plans to crush Mortimer Jr. Rachel dies in childbirth and Abrams raises the girl, Ruth (also played by Keefe). When she becomes a young woman, he wants to arrange a marriage between her and Louis Cohen (Robert Bentley), but she's in love with Sheldon Sherman (Edward Earle), who is Russell Mortimer's ward. Mortimer, on the other hand, wants the young man to marry Hazel (Gene Burnell), his daughter from his second marriage. Abrams has finally gotten financial power over Mortimer, but before he can ruin him, the plight of the young people compels him to have a change of heart.
