Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Filmmaker Janet Tobias traces the harrowing tale of 38 Ukranian Jews who survived the Holocaust by fleeing into caves for 18 months. Constantly scavenging for food and water while constructing a series of carefully hidden escape routes, the desperate survivors would bide their time in the unforgiving environment until the Soviet Army arrived to liberate the region.
