Night Cargo (1936)
by Hans J. Wollstein review

Directed by silent serial star Charles Hutchison, Night Cargo remains a fast-paced but at times confusing bit of pulp fiction belonging to an earlier, more innocent era where dancers in Singapore dives were naive and downright virginal American girls. Leading men Lloyd Hughes and Walter Miller had both been stars in the silent era, and their acting is typically overblown. Night Cargo's best performances are given by leading lady Jacqueline Wells (later known as Julie Bishop) and the exotic Carlotta Monti, the longtime girlfriend of comedian W.C. Fields.
