Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Children play their cruel games as their parents mourn the death of Josef Stalin in this grim drama. Their playground is a decimated Warsaw courtyard where they play games like "shoot the Jews" and "uprising." A plump and pompous bully steals war decorations from the son of the porter at the train station, leading to the arrest of the boy's parents. A young girl and a kitten are killed in the course of the barbarous games, and both are buried in a sandbox before the gruesome games resume.
