Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Singing sensation-movie star-comedian-producer Nick Cannon was the host of this MTV series, which some wags have labeled as a hip-hop version of Whose Line is It Anyway? Each week, host Cannon, as captain of the "Red Team", squared off against the guest-star captain of the "Black Team" in a no-holds-barred competition involving wild improvisations, wacky neck-risking stunts, "thrown-down" sessions in which the contestants savagely bombarded each other with put-downs and punchlines, and "bite the hand that feeds them" segments wherein the studio audience was also verbally assaulted. And once the "freestyle comedy battle" had subsided, it was time for a straight-through performance by an A-list recording artist. Also featuring the pulchritudinous "Wild 'N' Out Girls" (for those disinterested in comedy and music, of course), Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N' Out debuted on July 28, 2005.
