Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Nick Fowler (William Russell) decides that life as a telegraph operator in the small town of Hohokus is lacking something. So when a beautiful girl leaves her handbag at the Hohokus station, he decides to search her out in the big city. But things don't turn out as he expected. First he gets tangled up with a notorious crook, Steve Diamond (Edward Peil). Then he tries unsuccessfully to get in touch with a director who is from Hohokus himself. But instead of writing home about his failures, he makes up a glorious and colorful story using the encounter with Diamond as a springboard. The director finally happens along, and when he sees the letter, he offers to give Nick a job in his script writing department. To top it off, the studio's leading lady, Gwendolyn Van Loon (Francelia Billington) is none other than the young woman he was searching for.
