Innovative post-punk band Joy Division collapsed when leader Ian Curtis committed suicide in 1980; later that same year, the group's surviving members reunited as New Order, and became one of the most acclaimed British groups of the 1980s with their prescient blend of electronic dancefloor rhythms and moody but melodic musical textures. New Order: Substance is a collection of seven of the group's music videos, including their clip for "The Perfect Kiss" (directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Jonathan Demme) and a 1988 remake of their international smash "Blue Monday."
