Synopsis by Hal Erickson
In this British precursor to the American Star Search, a steady stream of talent-show contestants strutted their stuff before a panel of celebrity judges. Most of the aspiring stars were dreadful, but a few went on to fame and fortune, notably comedian Lenny Henry. The judge roster ran the gamut from music-hall veteran Arthur Askey to dancer-choreographer Lionel Blair. New Faces was broadcast from 1973 to 1978 by the Central Television division of ATV.
