The first half of this episode follows a report made to Seele about the events that have transpired since the Angels began attacking, recapping the storyline of the series thus far. In the second half, an experiment conducted by Ritsuko to see if the pilots can operate each other's Evas results in a violent catastrophe that calls into question just what the power behind the Evas truly is.
