Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

The man who took his name from the manner in which he would torture his victims before violently ending their lives describes his horrific crimes in his own words in an NBC News documentary that is not for the faint of heart. As the "BTK Killer," outwardly mild-mannered husband, father, and community role model Dennis Rader bound, tortured, and killed his innocent victims as the citizens of normally quiet Sedgwick County locked their doors and drew their blinds in fear. Beginning his murderous exploits in 1974 and eluding authorities for over thirty years, Rader stalked the city streets for potential victims while all the time taunting local police and media with a series of gruesome letters boasting about his heinous crimes. Now, with the BTK killer's identity finally revealed and the man who perpetrated these crimes safely behind bars, NBC News probes the mind of the man whose crimes may have gone forever undetected for another three decades had it not been for that fateful letter written on the private computer in his longtime church.
