Synopsis by Alice Day
New Zealand is home to a number of unusual animals that may hold keys to the evolution of land creatures. Nature: Land of the Kiwi presents a look at plants and animals that do not exist anywhere else, including the kauri tree, thought to be a relic from Gondwanan times when there were giant land masses instead of individual continents. Moas live here, along with wrybills, takahe, kea, a parrot that has been known to attack sheep, and, perhaps better known, the kiwi.
