Synopsis by Andrea LeVasseur
Estonian stage director Elmo Nüganen makes his feature filmmaking debut with the war drama Nimed Marmortahvlil (Names in Marble), based on the novel by Albert Kivikas. Set in 1918, the film involves a group of nationalist supporters after the Soviet invasion of Estonia. A romantic subplot involves poor boy Ahas (Priit Võigemast) and student Marta (Hele Kõre). Names in Marble was screened at the 2003 Taormina Film Festival.
