In this slow German "thriller," a man decides to investigate a country manor which is up for sale. He then gets slightly involved with the current owner, a young widow. It soon becomes clear to him that the woman is somewhat deranged. He bears a striking resemblance to the husband she apparently killed, and now he must somehow escape her clutches.
