Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The best-selling Argentine novel Nacha Regules was transformed into an equally popular film in 1949. The film reteams Zully Moreno and Arturo de Cordova, who'd previously starred in the South American box-office smash Dios se lo Pague. Moreno plays a high-class courtesan, while DeCordova portrays an aristocrat who hopes to save the heroine from her sordid lifestyle. Alas, the woman is unable to succeed in any "honest" profession, nor is the socialite much help to her beyond his platitudes and sermonizing. Nacha Regules is pretty heavy going, save for a few comic moments provided by Diana Maggi as an unrepentant "adventuress."
