Sasha (Svetlana Tormakhova) is a 40-year-old forester living on an island nature reserve in Northern Estonia. She meets Peter (Erik Ruus), a young ornithology student. Though the two initially clash due to their age difference and their views on ecology, they soon become lovers. The affair ends tragically when Sasha discovers that Peter's father was once her lover many years ago. The feature illustrates the cultural differences between Russia and Estonia.
