Both Jack Logan (Robert Frazer) and Helen (Blanche Mehaffey) are saved from the Bonanza Hotel blaze by the Mystery Trooper. The gangsters, meanwhile, chase down Billy (Buzz Barton) but the latter has cleverly gotten rid of the much vaunted map by tying it to White Cloud's mane. In an attempt to get to the map, Mack (Charles King) is pushed off a cliff. While the villain is hanging on for dear life to an outcrop, one of his henchmen takes a shot at Helen.
