Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This video examines some of the seminal teachings of the great psychoanalyst C.G. Jung. Jung articulated the theory of the collective unconscious, which he believed was just as great an influence on a person as the conscious mind. He thought it of paramount importance to make contact with the unconscious by examining the content of dreams, fantasies, and artistic expression. This program shows Jung's famous Red Book, which chronicles his own journey into the world of the unconscious. There is also archival film footage of Jung speaking about his work, and the responsibility of learning about the unconscious.
