An unforeseen personal tragedy forever changes the lives of two best friends and the wife of one of the men in House and Guest director Shin Dong-il's emotionally wrenching sophomore drama. Ye-jun (Jang Hyeon-seong) and Jae-mun (Park Heui-sun) met while serving in the military, and have since grown to become best friends despite their many differences. While former left-wing activist Ye-jun has developed into a money-minded foreign-exchange trader with a flair for fancy suits, the soft-spoken Jae-mun has opted for a quiet life as a chef and taken pretty hairdresser Ji-suk (Hong So-heui) as his bride. Though Jae-mun and Ji-suk are planning to travel to the United States to have their child, the plan later falls through as Jae-mun and Ye-jun slowly lose touch. Later, when Ji-suk leaves their baby in the care of her husband in order to attend a hairdressing convention in Paris, Ye-jun stops by his old friend's house on a whim and the pair reconnect while merrily imbibing. Their happy reunion comes to a tragic end, however, in a harrowing incident involving Jae-mun's young child.
