Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
Filmmaker Miranda Smith provides a portrait of Fred Kirschenmann, a North Dakota farmer who has become known for speaking out against the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Smith also intercuts scenes of her father, a citrus grower who used both in his orchards. While Kirschenmann warns of the past, present and future dangers of chemically manipulated agriculture, Smith poignantly shows her father's fate.
