Synopsis by Nathan Southern
In the direct-to-video sci-fi/martial arts thriller Mutation, a gifted young scientist takes a tragic misstep -- and endangers all of Los Angeles in the process -- when he invents a serum that re-endows dead bodies with life. The experimenter unthinkingly injects it into the corpse of the serial killer K, notorious for butchering dozens years earlier. The first time around, Detective Steve Gornick tracked K down and snuffed him out. Now, the formula not only resurrects K, but boosts his capability via a constant stream of genetic mutation. As K works his way, once again, through the City of Angels -- tearing limb from limb any passersby unfortunate enough to fall into his path -- his power threatens to outstrip humankind's capability of ending his reign of terror. Brian Schwartz, Eddie Croft, and Jessica Moon co-star.
