On this weekly cable TV series, famous urban legends (incredible stories that have been passed from generation to generation and accepted as "fact") were mined for possible kernels of truth -- and those that failed to yield those kernels were thoroughly debunked. Among the round-the-campfire myths explored on the series were such esoterica as giant alligators in the sewers, the One-Armed Killer, the predatory women who robbed unwary men of their kidneys and sold the organs on the medical black market, and the dead scuba diver deposited in a tree during an aerial lake-cleaning operation.
